The Update

More than one person has pointed out that I'm terrible at updating the blog recently so I decided it might be about time. Life has been good for us in the last 5 months since Braden was born.

Taylor finished his last semester of engineering classes for his masters. Now he's spending all of his time working on his research and writing his thesis which will be due by the end of the summer when he starts the MBA program. I can't believe that he's already almost halfway through, it's starting to feel more real that we will be fully graduated some day soon! Taylor's been a trooper supporting me through basketball season. I can't leave Braden at home with him during games because he refuses to take a bottle, so Taylor has been at every one of our games watching him.

I've been keeping busy with my coaching. Volleyball finished in November with the girls taking 8th place in th e state tournament, the highest ranking they've achieved in quite a few years. Basketball season started up right after volleyball and I've really enjoyed coaching the girls this year. I'm also still helping out with rugby when I can, which will be more often once basketball is over mid February. I also have been subbing for one of my friends who teaches biology every once in a while.

Braden sitting in his bumbo he got for Christmas. He loves to sit on the counters while I cook.

Braden gets to come with me to basketball practice everyday. He loves to play with the balls!

He wins the "chillest baby" award. He often just sits on the sideline and watches what's going on in practice. (usually I'm standing or sitting next to him though and not taking pictures...)
Braden is getting incredibly big! At his last check-up he was in the 97th percentile for height, so we are optimistic that he got his dad's height. He is the most easy-going baby I've ever been around. Just recently, we had an intramural water polo game and didn't have anyone to watch him. So, we just put him by the pool, strapped into his car seat and asked an extra player from the other team to just sit by him. He literally sat there and just looked around for 3/4 of the game! It was only in the last 10 minutes or so that he decided he wanted his mom, but until then he did great! He loves people and is always smiling at strangers wherever we go. If I had a dollar for every random person that has told me how cute he is after he smiled at them, we'd be rich! He gets to come with me to basketball practice everyday and mostly just sits on the sidelines and watches. The girls just love him and always want to hold and play with him. He just recently learned how to roll. I think he's been capable of it for a while, but just didn't necessarily see the need for it. I literally had to teach him how to roll and now he finally does it on his own when he needs to reach something. His newest trick is spitting. He just discovered that he has control of his tongue in the last week or so and now loves to sit and blow raspberries while he's playing with his toys. We love our Braden boy!
